The HCG Diet at The Nardella Clinic: Case Study 2 - Prevention is the Best Medicine
Jill came to the clinic in January 2011 concerned with going into her "fourties" overweight. She had tried many different ways to achieve a healthy weight: from an insulin resistant diet (diabetic diet), portion control, exercise, as well as carb-control with not much success. Jill also has PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), which can make it hard to lose weight and increases the risk of diabetes. Determined to get healthy Jill decided to try the HCG program.
Jill is 5'8" tall and 192 pounds starting the treatment. After being on the diet for 6 weeks and 3 weeks of maintenance, Jill is now 173 pounds and feeling better than ever. During the entire 6 weeks of the 500-calorie diet, along with HCG, Jill never felt hungry or deprived. In fact, Jill felt great on the diet and had lots of energy. To make sure Jill never got tired of the allowed foods, she tried many different recipes from the HCG cookbook. The diet has taught Jill portion control and long term healthy habits.
After being off the diet for about 5 months, Jill has no problem maintaining her new weight of 170 pounds. She admits that off the diet she does cheat once and a while, but has found that the diet has really helped program her body to stay at her current weight and she is planning another round of HCG to get to her goal weight of 150 pounds.
The diet helped Jill reach her goals. It has also given her the confidence and experience necessary to not be overweight in her fourties and to substantially reduce her risk of developing diabetes. Jill is very pleased with her outcome and feels great about her accomplishments on the HCG diet.
As a clinic we are happy to help her achieve these goals. We provide pre diet lab work and counseling, ongoing support and weekly visits during the diet, as well as the HCG supplement and B12 injections required for the diet.
